Love Valley
Love Valley is a must-ride for any mountain biker visiting Göreme. The trail features a mix of single track and slick rock, weaving through a canyon filled with fairy chimneys and phallic rock formations that give the valley its name. The terrain is moderately technical, with plenty of flowy sections interspersed with short, punchy climbs and descents. You'll encounter a series of natural berms and small drops that keep the ride exciting without being overly challenging. The initial descent is certainly the most technical. You will find yourself on some slick rock avoiding the worn horse track that make for a very interesting drop section right at the beginning. You will then traverse into sandy and grassy single track that will weave in and out of the river bed. The sandy sections can be tricky, requiring good bike handling skills to navigate smoothly.
Red Bull Canyon
Red Bull Canyon offers a more technical and adrenaline-pumping experience. The trail begins with a steep descent into the canyon. You can either do somewhat of a wall ride or navigate the wooden ladder into the highlight of this trail, the Red Bull section, a natural half-pipe that allows for some exhilarating speed and a surfy feel. The canyon walls close in as you ride deeper, creating a sense of adventure and seclusion. You will experience 2 such canyons that allow for a very playful bike experience and as our guide said, the canyon is for any rider but what you can play with is your speed and your ride. For the rest of the trail expect to encounter a mix of loose gravel, rocky surfaces, and slick rock sections that test your bike handling skills. You will ride around some historic churches and find yourself in some cool tunnels as well on your way out of the valley. This canyon's unique formations and challenging terrain make it a favorite among more experienced riders.
The Ridge Trail
The Ridge Trail is perfect for those looking for a mix of scenic views and technical riding. This trail runs along the ridge overlooking the Göreme Valley, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The trail is primarily single track with sections of slick rock and loose dirt and small technical rock gardens. Riders will encounter a variety of features including natural berms, small drops, and tight, technical sections. The exposure on either side of the ridge adds an extra element of thrill, especially in windy conditions. This trail is quite long and has a bit of choose your own adventure as there are multiple points that you can divert onto different trails. The Ridge Trail is a great option for intermediate to advanced riders looking to test their skills while soaking in the beauty of Cappadocia, a particularly lovely trail to catch at sunset and our favorite trail in this region.
